The role that parents often overlooked is to be the teachers to their own children. I just put myself into this challenge recently when I realized its time to bring back the old school teaching with real pens and papers. To be honest, I was quite happy when I knew some educational apps out in the multi media market nowadays. I thought it would be a relief for moms to do physical involvement in tutorials, I thought I could just lend the Ipad and then I can be free from this duty, but I'm wrong. She is just ignoring educational apps after trying once or twice, but what she's playing with are apps that are more interesting than those educational ones. Hence, its time to bring back the old friends pen, eraser, paper.
I am not a teacher myself but big thanks to First School for a complete guide on the crafts to do, writing and reading activities. Things made easy. Now all I need is time to prepare. For today, we did the mini book of letter P and made some crafts to keep her attention glued to the subject. Indeed it requires loads of patience and lots of imagination. What I like is the activities are interactive; making it more fun to do in just the right span of time.
For the above pictures we did letter P as she is often confused with letters P, D, and B. here are the links for the crafts: for the work sheets and minibook: Choose Letter P, and Police Officer head band and badge, for additional craft, we did the Puppy Craft
Its really fun doing it together and it will never end without a role-playing. Fun time for pictures!
